Delicious DIY malatang spot where you pick your own ingredients by weight. There are lots of soup bases to choose from, but I always go for the tom yum — rich, flavorful, and so good! The service is excellent, and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommended!

It's a fantastic place if you like to customise your food. it has a big variety of vegetables, noodles, fish, beef and more! Many different soups and condiments too! And if you feel lost the stuff is really helpful and friendly. Thank you Magda for all your help and service! She really knows all of the different food and tastes 🫶

Lunch time walk in. Enjoyed the concept, kind of Subway meets Woolworths pick n mix style hotpot. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. I had the vegan chicken with mushrooms and eastern vegetables, cooked in the Malatang signature broth 😋🍜🥡

First time here got the dry spicy malatang. Good flavor while providing the spicy numbing heat. Great selection of toppings with good amount of seating if your with a big group.

Such an amazing addition to the Durham food scene. Fresh ingredients and the bases are super tasty. Servers are friendly and seem genuinely grateful for your service unlike other places. Try the frogs legs and chicken hearts.

Pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, food was fresh and authentic. Prices were reasonable with very generous portion sizes. Would highly recommend! See below picture: features the Char Siu Pork With Rice large size for £9.95. Alternatively, there is a small portion size for £5.95.

The whole restaurant can give you an authentic experience of Malatang! From variety of toppings to sauces, everything is very well prepared. I tried their Tom Yum Soup Base and it was not too spicy and it gave a good sourness too! Definitely worth for a try even you are not a spicy-lover. But the store is quite warm inside and you may sweat when you are having hot bowl and spicy.

This place is great- choose your own veg, meat, noodles and broth. The chef then whips up a storm within minutes. Condiments include freshly chopped chilli’s, various oils, nuts, herbs and spices . Wonderful service by Alicia and Artur the chef. Outstanding albeit a tad chilly to account for the fresh fridges

Tried some new things today! Duck feet and frog legs. I think it's nice actually haha. I got the spiciest option but there's milder ones too. Good background music too. (It's near the train station so that's good)
